I obtained services from this babysitter / nanny and I find that:

"I have a two children, my oldest daughter is 7 and she was with Joan from the ages of 1.5 until she was 6. My son is 17 months and he has been with Joan since he was 1.
I couldn't image taking my son elsewhere. Joan is a wonderful childcare provider. She loves your children like they are her own and treats them like family. From making fresh meals, to outdoor outings and helping with reading/writing and aiding with potty training, you couldn't ask for a better person to look after your children."

"My daughter has had a great time with Joan since 2017. She provides a number of seasonal activities and always takes kids out to play when weather permits. One of my favorites is her daily diary where she provides her notes on activities, comments or any record I should knoe about. I love yo read them as I can know how my daughter enjoys her time there everyday."

"A pleasant day to everyone reading this review.

My daughter Nadine (2 1/2) years old had been with joan since she was 1 year old.
She is my only child and I had doubts about leaving her with a stranger, but the first day i saw all those beautiful children she had there and how happy they were, i felt a little better.
The first week or so my daughter cried as Joan was a stranger to her but after that she LOVED Joan.
She is on a routine, she love her friends at daycare and some times she even call me Joan..hahahahaa.. so cute
Joan is a very responsible, nurturing, intelligent care giver and our family loves and admire the things she does for my daughter and all the kids there.
anytime i’m running late it’s no problem for her.
Joan is so wonderful at what she does and i will totally recommend her and trust her with anyone precious gift.
Her daycare is very educational and fun.. your child will be very lucky to have Joan as her care giver.

I obtained services from this babysitter / nanny and I find that:

"I had a poor experience with this daycare. She seems a little better with older children. After some time she became rude, pushed me out the door quickly at drop off, I was asking questions about my child if he was eating/sleeping she wouldnt wana talk - only email = unprofessional. My son came home starving - fed portions according to Canada food guide. I feed my son until he is full. My son wouldnt nap so she would keep him in his highchair for hours. My son is still an infant she complained that he would squeel and screetch...hes a baby!!! Im unsure how my son walked around all day as there was no baby gate at the top of the stairs. I do not reccomend her"

Provider's reply:

"To all my future parents,

I would like to address two large issue in this review: this being the safety of my stairs and communication.

To begin, I have a closed-concept house, which is longer than it is wider, which makes it quite easy to divide the main floor into two groups for different ages. When Krysta refers to there not being a gate at the top of the stairs, that area is dedicated to my 4 and 5 year olds, who need access to the bathroom and know how to walk down the stairs properly own their own.

When the younger ones go down the stairs and are incapable I will carry them. When they are learning, I will walk in front of them down the stairs, holding their hand, so they do not fall. The younger children are NEVER left unattended on or near the staircase!

The area Krysta’s son was in is completely blocked off, as you can see in the pictures, as there are two gates, a playpen, and a couch, making it a secure and safe space. The younger children can never reach the stairs. I am truly sorry that Krysta felt that her child was in any harm, as it would break my heart if any child was hurt in my care, as each and every child is so very special!

I have had many conversations with my other parents in the evening, as this way they get one on one attention to discuss the progress of their child. While her son was in my care, I had four other children to care for that I need to watch. I can not leave them alone, as this is a safety hazard, while I have a long conversation at the door during pick-up or drop-off, as no one will be watching the other children. I have NEVER told any parent that they are not welcome to call me or get together to talk about their child in the evening! I am so very sorry, she felt that she could not call me, as I feel communication between myself and the parents are so very important in the growth of a child.

I wish Krysta and her little man all the best in the future.

If you have any doubts about my care, please read my other reviews or feel free to contact any or all of my references, as they said they would be please to speak to you about my care!"

I obtained services from this babysitter / nanny and I find that:

"Joan was my daycare provider for a few years when my 2 children were in Kindergarten and grades 1 and 2. She provided care both half day and before and after school. She was fabulous! She provided interesting and educational activities, believes strongly in getting kids outside to play (weather permitted of course) and fed them healthy lunches and/or snacks. She lives relatively close to my house so even now that my kids are older and don't require daycare they still know that she is a safe place to go if they ever need help. I would highly recommend Joan."

I obtained services from this babysitter / nanny and I find that:

"My 3 year old daughter has been going to Joan's since she was 1.5 and she absolutely LOVES her. She wakes up most mornings asking me if she is going to "Joan's house".
Joan has helped us with potty training and our daughter has been fully potty trained before she was 2. Reading, writing, the endless crafts and activities that she provides for them on a daily basis. Walks through the park and the splash pad. My daughter loves seeing all of the other children there and looks forward to seeing them but most importantly she looks forward to seeing Joan. As a first time mother, I was hesitant to let anyone other than family watch my child but oh I am so glad I went with my gut. Joan is like family. She loves our children as if she was one of her own and you can't find that most places. I hope that my husband and I future children get to opportunity to go to her because she is truly that wonderful.

I am available if anyone would like to discuss more how wonderful Joan and her services are."

I obtained services from this babysitter / nanny and I find that:

"My wife discovered this daycare provider and was impressed with her references. I trusted my wife and left our one year old son in her care. And she has lived up to the hype and has surpassed my expectations.

Joan is a loving, nurturing and responsible daycare provider. My son is now 2 1/2 years old. Every morning he repeatedly asks to go see Joan and the other children that attend this daycare. He looks forward to daycare and enjoys his time with Joan and the other children. There are days my son even forgets to say good-bye to me because he loves being with her. He even gets sad some days because I pick him to early because he's having so much fun.

Under Joan's care and tutelage my son has learned the following:

- Learned to climb up and down the stairs at an early age.
- Learned to responsible climb up and down the steps at a park.
- Has learned his alphabets.
- My son is able to count to 12.
- Is able to recognizes his letters and numbers.
- He has learned and recognizes shapes and colors
- Has started to learn and say the days of the week.
- Has learned to share and be compassionate towards others.
- Friendly towards animals (my son loves feeding the pet rabbit).
- Right now he is being Potty Trained.

I am amazed by the arts and crafts that Joan has the children participating in. Extremely responsible doesn't begin to describe this daycare provider. There are times I forget to pack an extra set of clothes or I'm short on diapers and she has come through for my family and I. My son is not a big fan of eating at home, but with Joan he eats almost everything. Healthy and nutritious meals are provided to him. Which put my mind at ease that he is eating healthy and being taken care of.

I would strongly recommend any parent to attend this daycare. I am glad my wife selected this daycare."

I obtained services from this babysitter / nanny and I find that:

"My 2.5 year old daughter has been in Joan's care for a year.
As a first time mom, I was very nervous about leaving my child in the care of a "stranger."
That feeling quickly changed, once I met Joan.
She is a very open and loving individual, my daughter has learned so much since being in her care.

As a parent, my biggest fear was that my daughter didn't want to be at daycare, and that she would cry every time I dropped her off.
In fact, the opposite is true.
My daughter loves going to "Joan's house", gives Joan a big hug, and waves goodbye to me, as I leave.
My daughter actively tells me how she plays with cars, the (toy) kitchen, little people etc. She also eats completely healthy food (except the occasional treat) while in Joan's care. And Joan works around my daughter's allergy.
Currently potty training, Joan has worked with me to help us train our little girl. I must say... my 2 year old is progressing very well.

Joan is an active part of my family - I trust her with the most important person in my life.

Feel Free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns."

+4 Childcare provider: Joan

I obtained services from this babysitter / nanny and I find that:

"My son (3yr old) has been with Joan for 2 yrs and the experience has been amazing. Joan is wonderful with kids and cares for my son like and aunt would. My son comes home with crafts he made almost everyday. Joan also helps potty train, and prepares kids for kindergarten by teaching pre-school lessons. Joan makes sure the kids get plenty of outside time, weather permitting. Trips to the park, nature walks to feed ducks and visit to the library are common place. My son loves going there, has never refused to go and sometimes asks to go see Joan on the weekend.
Joan's home is spotless and i never had any concerns about my son crawling on the floor when he was little.
My husband has been transferred and we will be moving in April 2014. if i could take Joan with me i would. Leaving your children in care and going back to work is difficult…i worry that i'll never again have the peace of mind that Joan was able to provide. With her i knew my son was safe, and cared for…not just looked after. Joan cares for Roman…and that means a lot.
If you are looking for childcare in the Downtown area of Brampton i suggest you contact Joan. Feel free to contact me via email to ask any additional questions."
