I obtained services from this family / home daycare, dayhome and I find that:

"I would highly recommend Laura Goodacre as a childcare provider. From the first day, she greeted my son with enthusiasm and confidence that cannot be denied. It is obvious that she is an experienced care provider and is confident in her abilities.

I really appreciated that she told me all about the daycare day. She communicated to me about the things my son had talked about that day, including his friend’s names and various excursions that we did as a family. She also listened when my son mentioned that his older brother might be jealous of an item that he was bringing home. She sent an extra one home for my other son. It shows that she really does listen and respond to the children in her care.

When my son came home from her care, he would mention what he did for the day. For example, he came home with a windmill and was very excited to teach me about the wind. She seems to effectively mix “screen free” unstructured play time with more structured activities.

He asked to go back after day 1. “I am going to Laura’s daycare!” with a smile on his face. He was in a good daycare previously so I appreciate that he was happy so quick.

Overall, I think Laura is a wonderful childcare provider and would recommend her."

I met with this family / home daycare, dayhome and I find that:

"My spouse and I recently interviewed Laura and would highly recommend that you meet with her. The only reason we did not choose this daycare is because we found another exceptional daycare that was closer to our home.

Laura appeared to be highly energetic, warm and gentle. We were very impressed with her educational background in child psychology, her up to date knowledge of positive discipline and early childhood education. Her passion and engagement are clear. It is also clear that she has years of experience and toolbox for responding to each child as an individual is full!

We particularly appreciated that she shared our no-cry approach to napping. She is energetic and our child was engaged by her. She was able to redirect him very effectively if his explorations of her house went too far. We liked her emphasis on teaching children respect for themselves and others, and to put words to their emotions.

We also loved her education program with thoughtful themes and cool projects (hatching chicks, raising and releasing butterflies etc.). She has a piano in her livingroom which she uses for circle time (both in English and French). I have no doubt that her charges stay with her from the time they are infants until they begin JK. Her approach to early childhood education would keep any child engaged until they are school aged."
