+4 Childcare provider: Marilyn Neuman

I obtained services from this non-profit daycare centre and I find that:

"LifeBridge is an absolutely outstanding daycare centre. I sent my two children there. My first child was there from age 22 months until he started JK. We loved it so much that we continued to take him there during my mat leave with my second child, commuting all the way from Thornhill to downtown Toronto, just to take him to daycare every day for a year. They were wonderful with my second child as well, who was there from 10 months to 3 years. We very sadly had to move him to a daycare near home purely for logistic reasons, and it is hard to think about all he is missing out on. Speaking with other families who've left LifeBridge for logistic reasons, I hear the same from them. I am extremely picky, and have visited about 25 daycares over the years, and not one compares. Here's what I love:

- Marilyn is a caring, sensitive and very knowledgable Early Childhood Educator that has a strong vision of a daycare that nurtures every child an individualizes care for them.
- When a child faces a challenge and needs support, she will work tirelessly with the family and use all available resources to find a solution that respects the child's and family's needs.
- The staff are all ECE's. This makes a gigantic difference. They are kind and loving.
- The staff use a consistent approach to behavioural guidance - when a child has made a poor choice, they help the child to find the words to communicate, negotiate, compromise. Their approach really helps kids to learn what they should do, in a way that builds self-respect and respect for others. They do not just punish them for doing what they should not do. Just ask Marilyn about behavioural guidance on your tour, and compare that to what you hear at other daycares.
- The food is incomparably good. What parent would not want their kid to eat food that is non-GMO, mostly local, all natural, no refined sugar, minimal salt, much of it organic, fresh from scratch every day?
- The playground is awesome - rubberized surface, green space, great equipment.
- They have great extra programs. My kids loved their music and sports classes. Nice field trips too, and we really appreciated that the infants got to go on trips as well.
- Communications from Marilyn are positive, and there is a strong sense of community at this daycare.
- In the 3 years I had my children at LifeBridge, I never once heard a staff member yell or raise their voice. I never once heard a negative or disrespectful communication.

I wish every daycare were like this."
