As a working parent, choosing and trusting a daycare can be stressful, but our transition to Douro Street Daycare was flawless and worry free. We're so grateful to have found Ilan and her team. "Words cannot express how grateful we are to have found Ilan. Our daughter started going to her when she was two and has just recently graduated from daycare as she transitions into Junior Kindergarten. We even moved to Hamilton at one point, but we loved Ilan SO much that we kept our daughter in her daycare and made the commute for months until we found another home in Toronto. Ilan has so much heart and such a caring mindset. She really makes an effort to engage the kids and develop them in a very individualised way. Our daughter has grown leaps and bounds over the last two years and we have her to thank. Ilan is really committed to providing a safe, fun and loving environment and we’re very thankful to have had our daughter in her care and we will for sure be sending our son to her when I go back to work! I highly recommend sending your children to her home daycare. We will miss you so much Ilan!"

"As our childcare provider for 3 years and as a neighbour to her business for years prior to that, we have witnessed Ms. Ilan's business grow over the years and were lucky enough to get to experience it first hand with our own children.

Offering two units to cater to infants as well as toddlers, my two boys have quite literally grown up with Ms. Ilan. Starting daycare at 11 months old, Ms. Ilan has supported them (and us) every step of the way. From walking, talking, sharing, weening off of soothers or bottles, potty training - she has held their hand (and ours) every step of the way.

Ms. Ilan's years of experience with children stood out to us countless times over the years giving us full confidence in her and the care that her team provides. Welcoming our boys with a warm smile and big hug each day, we feel like we are leaving them with family.

From personalized birthday parties each year to visits from Santa or costume parties at Halloween - Ms. Ilan doesn't miss a beat. She knows just how to make things feel special and to make special moments for them.

Each day my boys leave daycare with a story to tell. Often coming home with their "work", they always feel proud to show off what they have learned and accomplished at daycare. Whether it's trying a new food, learning to hold a pencil crayon to colour, to singing a new song or telling a story about their trip to the park - daycare is a chance for them to learn new things with their friends.

To me, the biggest sign that my boys enjoy their time with Ms. Ilan is that my eldest often asks me when she can come over to play at his house. Even when their week together is over, he doesn't want it to end.

It's hard for us to imagine the day when Ms. Ilan won't be part of our journey as she has done so much to help us get to where we are today. As our eldest prepares to head to school next year, we are saddened to see this chapter come to an end for him. We take comfort in knowing that she has done everything she can to help prepare him for what is to come next.

If you are able to get a spot in her program, take it. We would do it all over again and again in a heart beat! 4 out of 4. 11 out of 10."

"I cannot express enough gratitude for the care and dedication that Ilan, our daycare provider, has shown towards my children. Both of my kids had the privilege of attending Ilan's daycare, and it was truly a remarkable experience. My oldest child formed deep bonds and made her first best friends there, thanks to the nurturing environment created by Ilan.

Ilan went above and beyond to ensure my child's growth and development. She successfully potty trained my oldest, which was a significant milestone for us as parents. Moreover, Ilan's cooking skills were truly exceptional! She provided a wide array of delicious and nutritious meals that my oldest still fondly remembers.

What sets Ilan apart is her unwavering support, especially during challenging times for our family. She was always accommodating to our specific needs and incredibly patient with our children. Knowing that our kids were in such capable and caring hands allowed us to feel at ease.

"My son was with Ilan for almost a year, when you say children are like buds and we need to put water to see them growing Ilan proved that.I wanted a place were my son will feel like home and get opportunity to make friends and learn at the same time get that warmth that he gets at home Ilan and her daycare met all that expectation.She is very patient takes out time to listen to any concern and address them appropriately,she always had that welcoming hug and warmth for my son .
My son was not talking much but after going to this daycare his speech flourished he is now a talkative kid.

Ilan has always been more than willing to answer all our questions and provide advice regarding naps, potty training and any other developmental concerns. In fact, she potty trained him! Ilan has been absolutely amazing for our son and our family; her nuturing, patient, and loving nature has made her daycare a second home for our son.

"Ilan and Douro daycare have been a second home to our daughter. She's greeted with open arms and smiling faces everyday. We've had no issues with covid and it's been a very safe environment for her for the last 2 years.

Not only does she sleep well and eat great meals, they learn a lot, play outside. It's a smaller group so they can form closer relationships with everyone there. Highly Recommend!!"

"Words can’t express how wonderful Ilan, the of Duoro Street Daycare, is or how grateful I am to have had her help in my sons development. My son is almost three and has been with Ilan almost a year and a half. In that time I’ve been constantly blown away at her love and care for my son and her help in his development - every question I’ve had about his eating, speech development or potty training she’s not only answered, she’s provided me tips, sent me videos and always reassured me that he was fine. She truly sees the good in every child and loves them as if they were her own. Her heart is so big and the kids under her care are truly lucky. If we weren’t moving out of the city I’d keep my son there until school, but I’m so thankful for the time my son had with her. I highly recommend Duoro Street Daycare and will be so sad to no longer have my son there or to see Ilan’s smiling face each day."

"Where do I begin with Ilan... She's been absolutely incredible over the last 1+ years. My son Yukon and her, are two peas in a pod. I have not met another person (other than my husband) who loves our child more. Ilan embodiment of a perfect childcare provider. She is a great communicator, she loves unconditionally, and makes mom and dad feel so comfortable. Ilan was very patient with me in the beginning. She has also taught my son to go in the potty. "We had the privilege of finding a spot at Ilan’s daycare 3 years ago. My son, Eddie started at 11 months old and it was an easy decision to partner with her as a caregiver. Her warm and nurturing demeanour, home cooked meals and positive environment made both my son and I excited to go to daycare everyday for the last 3 years. The best part was the social skills and friendships he acquired while at Ilans. It was the perfect mix of learning and play. "We are very thankful for Ilan. We love her so much! She holds a special place in our lives.

We met Ilan 5 years ago. My daughter was 13 months. She is 6 years old now and she is still under her care; she goes to Ilan’s every day after school. My daughter loves her! Being at Ilan's daycare is like being at home.

Ilan is a loving, patient, attentive, kind, highly-experienced caregiver. She loves what she does and she excels at it. I have peace of mind knowing my daughter is in her loving hands. I know she is happy and safe. She is going to have delicious/nutritious meals while playing with Ilan and her little friends in a safe, clean, and welcoming environment.

Thanks to Ilan, my daughter has learned so much. She organizes fun and interesting activities: numbers/letters, songs, dance, games, birthday parties, crafts, picnic (summer), walks to the park. My daughter is a picky eater. At Ilan’s, she eats some fruits/veggies that she usually does not eat and she enjoys it!

"Ilan came to the rescue when we urgently needed to place our toddler in a daycare and it was one of the best decisions we could ever have made for him!

From the moment we met Ilan, it was obvious that she treated each child as he/she were her own family - the love, affection, patience, gentle spirit, guidance, smiles, warmth (I could go on and on and on) that she showered on our son and all the other children has helped mold him into the happy, sweet, sociable, eager-to-learn child that he is.

Thanks to Ilan, our son has been exposed to a variety of healthy/nutritious/delicious food, has been potty-trained (without any judgement or frustration), learnt his numbers/letters, etc. all in the very short time that Ilan cared for him.

Not only that, Ilan has provided my husband and I with so much advice and guidance when we needed any reassurance, and she was also amazingly flexible and understanding when a last-minute work emergency popped up which meant we were a little behind picking our son up.

We don't view Ilan as being just a childcare provider, to us, she is family and my son constantly still says "Ms Ilan" and "Boo boo" (a name he got used to hearing her call him) and I know he misses Ilan as much as we do. If I had my way, I would have him there until he is 18! :-)"

"Ilan cared for our daughter from 18 months to 2.5 years old and we couldn't have been happier with finding her!
We didn't fancy the idea of having our kid in a regular daycare, so we were looking for a more personal and individualized type of care. And Ilan was suggested to us by trusted good friends. How lucky we were!
As childcare provider, she's everything you would expect: caring, understanding, loving, firm, patient... and since day 1 she made my daughter feel comfortable and at ease in this environment. Morning drop-offs aren't smooth for kids but most of her mates were happy and excited when coming in in the morning, and that also relaxed us.
We're very pleased with the "formal" education she has received: learning letters, numbers, months of the year... indoors and outdoors activities and potty training!
When you pick up you your kid from daycare and she says "Casa Ilan is so much fun", you know you've made a good choice!
Unfortunately we had to move countries, so our daughter couldn't finish her pre-school stage with Ilan. We're going to have a hard time finding someone like Ilan again!"

"Ilan provided care for our daughter from age 18 months to 4 years. Our daughter is a polite, outgoing and empathetic little girl in no small part thanks to Ilan's exceptionally professional and warm care. Ilan supported us not just as a care-giver but as a sounding board for advice when we were uncertain, such as when my daughter pushed boundaries at home.
Her flexible hours made balancing child care and work unburden-some. She supported us with milestones such as potty training and big kid sleeping arrangements.
Ilan made the time away from our daughter stress-free. Ilan never left us in the lurch searching for alternative care last minute and always provided ample notice for her vacations.
My daughter was always happy to go to daycare, and I was confident that during her time with Ilan she'd be safe, engaged, get time outside (weather permitting) and have good food.

"It wouldn’t be fair to give a review to Ilan. You don’t review family. She is and has been family to us since our son started with her last year, when he wasn’t even one. She is his aunty.
I could not be happier that we found her. She is an amazing person and the most professional and loving caregiver to our children.

From the moment we met Ilan when I was still pregnant, we knew that she had something, she had that calm and caring approach where we could see that choosing her for our son it would be the best decision. Once my son was born, we contacted her and he started when he was 11 months. Since then, he has been a happy kid. Ilan has a natural gift to treat and understand children, she is caring and has that intuition that helps her guide each of them in certain way. She made everything easier in our lives. We knew that our son was in best hands. He learnt, he grew up, he made friends, he eats everything, he sleeps like an angel and Ilan helps with all that. She was there those first times when he cried at drop-off times. She is the one helped us understand each stage and guide him in the best way.

We have moved to the East and unfortunately we had to find a closer daycare to our new place, but if not, I would have kept our son with her until school. She is a ‘natural’ in what she does. And children know this. We will miss her smile and loving hugs to our son. She is the best person you could find as a caregiver for your children. No doubt."

"Our son is starting junior kindergarden this year and this unfortunately means that he'll be leaving Ilan's daycare after nearly 3 very fun years . From the moment that we met Ilan, we new we had found a gem. Ilan is a supremely kind, caring, understanding, gentle spirit who has a natural ability to connect with each child and put him/her at ease. Regardless of the issue or challenge at hand, her approach is always calm, constructive and patient, but also appropriately firm. She cooks healthy meals, engages the kids with age appropriate activities ranging from arts and crafts to helping in the kitchen, and often goes out of her way to make special accommodations such as putting our chatty little guy in his own room for nap ;)
As weary parents who were placing their first child into daycare, Ilan was the experienced reassuring voice we needed from the first cries at drop-off to potty training to power struggles.
As is the case with anyone that has met their calling in life, she excels at what she does and does it with a smile. I will miss that smile and positive energy every morning at drop-off."

My husband and I felt like we won the daycare lottery. Ilan is a kind and caring person who is passionate about her work. Ilan creates a safe and nurturing “family” environment. She gives and cultivates love and respect and she builds personal relationships with her children. There is no shortage of attention and affection. My daughter trusts Ilan and looks forward to going to her house every weekday; that speaks volumes. The children in Ilan’s care are given every opportunity to play, create, and learn. She always made sure we knew in advance when she would take the odd day off. "I'm so grateful to Ilan for helping to make the transition from home to daycare go so smoothly. When I checked her references they were glowing. Two different parents referred to her as an "angel."

My son started at 13 months and was very quickly at home due to the small group size and Ilan's warm nature. She's very loving and it was wonderful knowing that I was leaving my child with someone who really cared for him.

Ilan is incredibly reliable and trustworthy. She's communicative with daily updates and occasional photos of their activities. She has been understanding and flexible with schedules and accommodating of dietary needs.

Our son has always had issues with napping but seems to have no problem at daycare. He's also become more interested in trying new food while he's been with her.

Above all, she's just an exceptionally kind person that my son has thrived with. I drop him off in the morning and he's thrilled to see her and his friends. The best part of my day is picking up my happy little guy as he greets me with a big hug.

I wholeheartedly recommend this daycare and I'm so glad we opted for it."

"Ilan is an angel, simple as that. We have been with Ilan for almost 4 years, first my son who began at the age of 11 months, and now my daughter who is 19 months. From the moment I met Ilan I knew she loved children and loved her job. Her ongoing willingness to support me, as a mom, in my own trials and tribulations with partenthood, the reassurance that I need on those mornings after a long night of tears. She becomes a part of the family, an integral part of the family. We are so heartbroken to leave Ilan, if we could take Ilan with us to our new destination, we would.
I promise, Ilan will adore your child(ren) as if they were her own. You can be comforted to know she will take the best care of them. The space is comfortable, the beds/cots are too, the food is fresh and made up lovingly, but her hugs and smile is what comforts the children above all else.
