I am an AMI certified Montessori Instructor and hold a diploma in the Assistants to Infancy program (0-3 years) from the Montessori Institute in Denver, CO. After ten years of caring for toddlers in private schools, I now run a small daycare in my home in Greenboro. I provide a positive, nurturing environment that supports your child on their natural path of development.
In keeping with Montessori theory and tradition for this age group my focus is on:
* the development and refinement of language through a variety of language materials as well as through conversation, singing, and being read stories and poetry;
* the development and refinement of movement, both gross-motor and fine-motor;
* practical life activities involving care of the self such as hand washing, dressing, independence in toileting, food preparation, self-feeding etc.;
* practical life activities involving care of the environment, such as setting and clearing the table at snack and lunch time, food preparation, wiping the table, sweeping, dusting, caring for plants, etc.
* Your child will have the opportunity to play outdoors twice daily, weather permitting.
* Your child will have the opportunity to do art work daily, if they wish to.
* We go to the Greenboro Library at least once a week to select books and/or attend story time.
* Hours of operation: 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
* Full day rate: $46.00/day
* Half day rate (noon pick up): $36/day
* Healthy snacks and lunches are provided.
* E-mail contact maintained with parents to provide daily updates regarding your child.
* Smoke-free, clean environment.
* Re-certified in Standard First Aid + CPR C + AED October 2015.
* Annual criminal record check conducted; most recent check completed August 2016. |

I currently have one space for a child over 24 months starting immediately. However, I have committed to reserving sibling spots for current clients, and am full as of September 2018.
If you are looking for a spot for a child who will start junior kindergarten or pre-school in September 2018, that would be ideal.
As it stands right now, any care arrangement will have to have an end date of August 31, 2018, in order to accommodate the reserved spots. |
