Hello, I'm Nina, a caring, creative and patient child care teacher at Second Home Child Care. Second Home is located in a bright, beautiful home in a quiet, family-oriented, residential neighbourhood.
I have been working with children since 1995. I am also a mom of an outgoing little girl. Children are my passion and I have dedicated my life to teaching them. I enjoy watching them grow and learn.
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education (ECE) from Ryerson University and have worked in various child care centres, schools (I have taught kindergarten and primary grades) and have been the head teacher at Lollipops Educare in the Preschool room in Auckland, New Zealand. This experience taught me a lot about the demands and rewards of managing a daycare.
I believe in constantly improving my skills and love to learn (and teach!) I have been on many professional development workshops to improve my skills. I have also obtained my Bachelor of Education at Nipissing University in the Primary Level and have lots of experience with school-aged children. I have taken the Special Education course at University of Toronto to learn more about teaching children with special needs. I have worked with kindergarten children in South Korea and have obtained my TESL (Teaching English as a Second Language) certificate.
I have an updated Police Record check and Infant/Child CPR.
Throughout my teaching career, I have focussed on respecting children and learning from them as well and teaching and guiding them to reach their full potential, learn independence and show respect. I believe in nurturing children’s multiple intelligences by providing various fun activities throughout the day to spark their curiousity and teach them skills. I also promote a healthy lifestyle with daily physical activities and serve only home-made nutritious food. At Second Home, your child will be in good hands!
I am currently conducting interviews and meeting parents for viewings. Please contact me to ask any questions or set up a meeting and visit Second Home.
I look forward to meeting you and your little one!
Admission conditions
My requirements are that parents read the Parent Handbook and respect all of its policies such as communicate with me honestly and openly, pay fees on time and pick up their children on time.
Always ensure that your child receives quality care by taking the time to investigate the provider and by asking for references! We simply cannot verify the claims of every daycare provider.
Updates
We expect providers to keep their listing and available openings up-to-date. However, to prevent oversights, openings expire after 45 days.
