Description

At Busy Bees Daycare, children will learn to be confident, conscientious and happy individuals by socializing and playing with their friends. They will develop the social skills necessary to work and play together, conflict resolution and self regulation, but most importantly, children will learn and have fun through play in our stimulating and educational environment.

Each week the children will help to bake or cook some special treat for their daily snacks. Children will enjoy our daily circle time where we will sing songs, read stories and play games. During this time we also talk about the date, weather and current season and we will often have a lesson on a topic the children have shown an interest in such as crocodiles and alligators, counting, birds, matching colours, words that rhyme etc. Although I do not run a curriculum based program, it is my goal to help parents raise children who love to learn and explore the world. Therefore, every experience in my home and in the community is an opportunity to learn. We take regular trips to the London Public Library and the Ontario Early Years Centres as well as trips to the park or right out in our own backyard and even the occasional field trip. I believe strongly that children learn best from physical interactions with their world so I can assure you that we do not watch TV during daycare hours. We DO use technology to watch educational videos from time to time as the Internet can be an excellent resource to help young children visualize a new concept.

I pride myself in serving quality food to the children as I understand that nutrition is such an important part in healthy development. While my home is not nut free I do strive to use quality local, whole, unprocessed foods whenever possible and my lunches are always homemade - even our bread is often warm from the oven!
