I have a wonderful small group of great little ones and have a spot for one more child to come join us! I offer childcare for infants and toddlers up to age 4. I offer care for a small group so that I can ensure every child receives lots of one-on-one time. Healthy snacks, lots of home cooked goodies and meals, fresh fruits and veggies-and of course fishy crackers too! Special diets are welcome as I have no problem working with you to provide your child with the best eating experience possible! I am also cloth diaper friendly!
I offer "mini-preschool" activities for children ages 2-4 years. Usually a few mornings a week or more depending on the group dynamic and individual child. Keep in mind though, it's a small group, so it will be more like family than "school". I follow a purchased curriculum that is age appropriate for your child!
I have a flexible-go w/the flow, yet consistent schedule with lots of room for ABC's & 123's, building, reading, singing, dancing, making forts, dressing up, arts & crafts, water play, bubbles, lots of walks, picking up leaves and catching ladybugs! Sometimes we even just sit relax and do a whole lot of nothing & talk talk talk!! I don't believe in kids just running wild, and I also don't believe in little robots so I try to give the best happy medium possible. I teach good manners, patience, sharing & kindness, helpfulness, respect and responsibility... I help steer children in the way of making their own good choices & accepting the natural consequences of their actions.
DAYS/HOURS: I offer care Tuesday (with flexibility for Mondays) through Friday and tend to follow government hours for closures, holidays, etc. Hours are based upon each families individual needs/work schedules. You contract and flat fee pay only for what you need! I do not have open ended hours, however, I am "available" between 7am-5pm. This can be a tiny bit flexible based on your needs! *because my group is so small I have the ability to cater the hours and schedule around you and your needs.
RATES: As for pricing, I charge a reasonable weekly flat rate due up front every two weeks. I charge based on your needs and how long you need care for. I also charge special rates for teachers.... no having to pay for winter, spring, and summer break! (*More details about actual rates when we chat!)
As a courtesy to my families, I do not charge a lot of nit picky fees. I also do not charge for my own vacation time as well. In return , I ask that my families have their own reliable back up care in the event of illness or holiday/other closures-- this is very important!!
LOCATION: I'm located in downtown Ottawa. Just an easy walk away from a lot of downtown offices. I am nestled in between a few parks which we will visit daily, a library, and a community center which offers play groups that we will also visit.
MY HOME/YARD: Non-smoking, non-drinking, and pet free household. Great play areas in the house along with a large fenced in backyard. I have my own playground in my backyard as well! My home is clean & organized, but not perfectly sparkly unless you count princess crowns, dump trucks, & mega blocks!! My home is set up for all ages of young children, however it is thoroughly baby proofed and safe for all!
*** I don't allow shoes in the house as I like to limit the amount of outside germs lingering for crawling babies to enjoy!
A LITTLE ABOUT ME! I am a mom of 2 great "super sweet & silly, well behaved" kids. I have experience with children & families and really just love spending time with small children. First Aid/CPR, clean criminal history/recent background checks. (*feel free to ask me all about it when we chat!)
Though I maintain my professionalism w/ a well written contract; I do expect you to respect and follow, I am not running a "corporation" or a large center- but a place for you to feel at ease while at work- knowing your children are in good hands. I am an intelligent, easy going, and down to earth... no-where-near-perfect mom who is super fun & and maybe even funny! Always a professional, but able to be firm and consistent... and a little "tell it like it is"... but a whole lot of love mixed in!!
