Located in Old South, steps away from Wortley Road Public School, LISA'S HOME DAYCARE in the VILLAGE is a creative and nurturing home where your child will be safe, loved and cared for. Here, they will learn and grow physically, emotionally, intellectually and socially at their own pace.
I have a five-year old daughter who is in SK at Wortley and a son who just turned three. I have been an elementary school teacher for the past ten years, but will be transferring my skill set to a younger group of children within the setting of my own home. During my teaching career I have taught kindergarten through to grade eight. I LOVE teaching art, dramatic play, music, and literacy.
At LISA'S HOME DAYCARE in the VILLAGE, your child will be involved in plenty of learning opportunities and planned activities, both inside and outdoors. Nature is the greatest classroom! From my years of teaching experience, I believe that children excel when they feel they are a part of a caring community. I have always believed that character education in any learning environment, with any age group, is paramount, as children learn so much through interacting with others. As opportunities present themselves, the children that become a part of our caring community will learn about compassion, empathy and respect for self, others and the environment. Expectations, routines, and engaging activities based on the interest and development of each child, help children feel safe and empowered. With that being said, I believe that children learn best when they are doing what they naturally do as children, which is through PLAY!
I have two full-time spots available for August/September 2013, but would be open to part-time arrangements. Ideally, I would like to fill these two spots with children who are between the ages of 2-4 years old. The daycare will be open from 7:30 am - 5:30 pm. I also offer before and after school care and could help with homework completion, as I know the curriculum very well!
