About me:
I am a mother of 2 (2 yrs & 10 months) and stepmom to 3 more (14 yrs, 11 yrs & 8 yrs). I always enjoyed planning special activities and outings for my stepchildren and after becoming a mom to 2 little ones have decided that staying home to watch them grow until they are school age is very important to me. A typical day here includes plenty of reading, music, free play, arts & crafts and often times cooking! I like to teach by example and experience but am also a big believer in independent play. I am First Aid & CPR certified. We have a large well stocked playroom as well as a big, mostly fenced backyard.
Caregiver Responsibilities:
Smoke free/pet free home.
A safe, child-proof environment.
Healthy lunch and snacks daily.
Cribs, playpens and a private nap room will be available for all children in care. High chair/boosters provided as well.
Open door, Monday – Friday with the exception of stat holidays, 7:00am – 5:00pm, hours beyond this will be discussed when needed.
Income Tax receipts
Parent Responsibilities:
Weekly payment on last day of care in the current week.
Finding alternate care when child is too sick to attend daycare.
Diapers and wipes.
Spare set of clothes.
Rates & Holidays:
Payment is expected whether child is in attendance or not. Payment will not vary due to statutory holidays, child’s illness, or parent holidays. Payment is not expected when I take holidays (2 weeks per year). Weekly fee will be $175 per child. Payment will be weekly.
Discipline:
I use redirection, time out (age appropriate and a duration of 1 minute per year/childs age), withdrawal of privileges, firm voice, and explanation of consequences to help children develop appropriate behaviour.
Toys:
Please leave special toys at home. We are very well-equipped and children find it very difficult to share a favourite item with the other children. (This does not apply to items used for nap time) |
