I am an ECE with more than 20 yrs experience as a childcare provider. I worked in a daycare centre for 2 1/2 years before opening my home daycare in February 1994. I am first aid and CPR certified. I have a large, bright playroom (new floor installed Dec 2014) filled with age appropriate toys. In Feb 2015, I added several busy boards to the playroom. In July 2016, I refinished a wooden play kitchen and added it to out dramatic play area. I also have a washroom and kitchen in the playroom area. My backyard is completely fenced and filled with plenty of riding toys and climbers. I have a 6-seat stroller so that we can go for walks in the neighbourhood. For added security, I have a video camera security system on the property so that all entrances are monitored 24/7.
Each day we try to have a learning circle where we learn about the calendar, weather, letters. colours, numbers, and shapes. We do seasonal crafts as well as crafts just for fun. I have a large selection of fine motor toys such as puzzles, blocks etc. Music is a large part of our day, we love to dance and sing! I have vast experience with infants and toddlers. I am very easy to work with and am flexible to the needs of the families in my care.
I provide two nutritious snacks and lunch everyday. These may include fruits (at least two per day), waffles, pancakes, toast, yogurt, cheese and crackers, various pasta dishes. chicken nuggets and fries, fish sticks and fries, as well as homemade soups. I try to incorporate vegetables where I can. I serve water at snack time and homogenized milk at lunch. If your child has special dietary needs, I am willing to accommodate them as much as possible. |

I do not take children to school because I find it too difficult with the little ones. There are two cats in the home but they do not interact with the children at all and are kept in a bedroom during daycare hours. |
