I run a well established centrally located, cozy, loving, clean, safe, smoke-free, happy, healthy, active daycare. I am located on Waterloo Street between Central Ave. and Princess Ave. I am a young grandmother with many years of childcare experience. My CPR/first aid is always up to date and I have a background in Guiding/Scouting and medical training. Our meals include organically grown produce and a balanced, home cooked menu. Breakfast, lunch and afternoon snacks are served.
We are close to two parks, one with playground equipment. We attend the festivals at Victoria Park all summer, and find it a wonderful place to enjoy the changing seasons. My program includes daily outdoor and indoor activities and my newsletter to parents lists our themes that change every two weeks for learning, crafting and field trip purposes. We travel to the Central Library once a week for storytime and playtime mornings. Occasionally we have playgroup meetings with other home daycares. My intergenerational program consists of a monthly visit to a senior's residence just around the corner and it is a mutually beneficial program.
We follow a daily routine, but flexibility is key. My daycare hours of business are 7:30am to 5pm. My prices are $30/day for full time care and $33/day for part time care and my current families will be happy to serve as references to tell you how the parents and I have worked together to help their children thrive and grow.
Admission conditions
We have a very friendly cat who loves to say hello in the morning, then she stays out of the way all day.
I have a high school student who helps us out a few mornings a month in the summer and once in a while throughout her school year. The children love her visits.
I do not currently have a space available but am keeping a waiting list if you would like to add your name in case there are any changes in enrollment.
Please note that I will be raising my rates to $32 for full-time and $35 for part-time in 2012 to keep up with rising food costs.
