In Orleans! 2 temperary spot available for the summer (from end of June to end of Aug). Happy Face Tots Daycare provides a loving environment that is safe, fun, creative and educational in a house. Our typical day at daycare consists of free play, sensory play, crafts, and circle time (stories, finger plays, songs, music and dance) according to the ages, needs and desires of the children in my care. We go on nature walks, rides in the wagon, running and rolling down the hills and outings to the park. show & tell day for the letter of the week. Play group on Mon & Wed mornings, THurs mini port. On tuesday we have a readiness program for Jr kindergarten (start with hello song, calender, circle time, bake according to theme stuctured play). We have special days ie princess day, pj day, show & tell, dress-up days, color day. We also go on field trips…pumpkin patch, the museum, Cosmic, ’Go Diego Go’ was a great adventure! The butterfly display at Carelton was spectacular!
We celebrate all seasons! (i.e. puddle play in the rain) Play is always a learning experience!
I send each parent a progress report on their child once a month, information letters and pictures to all parents by email. I also have an open door policy and would love to have a parent volunteer to help during ‘special days’. I am open to suggestions and new ideas so open communication is wonderful!
I know from experience that most parents are concerned about how much and what their child is eating at lunch. So I provide parents with the opportunity to monitor lunches by providing a meal for their tots. I provide 2 nutritional and fun snacks every day.
I am first aid/CPR and Defib certified and a member of Childcare Providers Resource Network of Ottawa-Carlton. I have a police check. Safety is a #1 concern so all safety measures have been taken in the daycare…smoke alarms, fire extinguisher, plugs, fire escape route written out...ect.
References are provided and receipts are given at the end of the year.
About 'me'...I come to you with a great deal of experience! I started off babysitting as a child and continued to work with children in one capacity or another from Sunday school teacher to working at shelters and working in help read programs…well the list just goes on…I have worked in Daycares and run my own home daycare for 19 years! I am also a mother of 3 older children. I love children and I love to help them grow healthy and happy!
My house is smoke free, and has central air!
