A willing partner for working moms,
she comforts, pampers, soothes and calms.
With all the love she has to share,
she's great to have when mommy can't be there.
She loves to rock a fussy child,
corrects the one that gets too wild.
She hears her share of tearful pleas,
and comforts those with skinned up knees.
With little children she plays games of peek,
for bigger ones it's hide and seek.
She is an expert at each game,
but somehow loses just the same.
She helps them learn the alphabet,
and gives them hugs when they're upset.
She gently tucks them in their beds,
with dreamland tales for sleepyheads.
She is a true and trusted friend,
who helps them learn and play pretend.
Although she's paid, it's plain to see,
she serves them with a love that's free.
Who I am
My name is Brittany, and I am a 24 year old mother of two.I have a daughter who is 6, and a son who is 20 months old. Along with their father, we share a three storey town home with our two cats, Cinderella and Swifty. While I am not a fully certified ECE, I have spent the last 5 years working in a licensed group daycare setting and am certified in child safe first aid and I also have a class 4 drivers license. After much observation I have decided that not only is group childcare right for my children, but it is not right for me. I am capable of providing your child a loving, safe and caring and educational second home while you are involved in work or school. Your child’s best interest will be my number one priority and I will encourage your child to develop at his or her own pace through circle time, arts and crafts, fun and play within my home. I am opening my home to offer Licensed Not Required Family Childcare for two children in addition my own . Although being LNR allows me to care for children from birth thru age 12, I am only accepting applicants who are under the age of two. I have recently submitted my application to the TriCity Childcare Resource and Referral office to be come a RLNR (registered license not required) and I am more than willing to provide my questionnaire answers to those parents who are interested.
Philosophy
I believe that family childcare is a very important extension of you and your child's family. As your child becomes involved in the daily routines they will see the connections between home and family childcare in a friendly and supporting way. By encouraging children to learn and develop at their own level they will gain confidence and learn self-worth. When a child is given guidance and understanding, they have the opportunity to explore their world in a safe and controlled environment.
Hours and Holidays
My Home will be available for you to drop your child off Monday ,Tues, Thurs, Friday 7:30 am-5:30 pm and Wednesdays 7:00-5:00
I will be closed all statutory holidays and closed for an extended weekend during Thanksgiving and between Christmas & New Years.
Daily Schedule
Your child will be encouraged to develop at his or her own pace through circle time, arts and crafts, fun and play within my home and the community.
Everyday we will walk my daughter to and from school (or drive if it's yucky!!) We will also attend the odd fieldtrip with her class if it is beneficial to the toddlers! Here is a sample of what our daily schedule will look like;
7:30-8:30 - DROP OFF/BREAKFAST/GETTING FRESH FOR THE DAY!
8:30-9:15 - OUT FOR OUR WALK TO THE SCHOOL AND A PLAY AT THE PARK! (MAYBE EXTENDED TO 10AM IF WEATHER ALLOWS!)
9:15-9:45 - TABLETOP ACTIVITY WHILE SNACK IS BEING ORGANIZED. (ART MOST LIKELY!)
9:45-10:45- SNACK, THEN CLEAN UP AND CIRCLE TIME!)
10:45-11:45- FREE PLAY! (MUSIC AND MOVEMENT, DRESS UP ETC)
11:45-12:15- LUNCH TIME!! CLEAN UP FOR NAPS!!
12:15-12:30- story, bottles, diapers.
12:45-3- NAP TIME (EACH CHILD WILL HAVE EITHER OR COT OR A PLAYPEN DEPENDING ON THEIR NEEDS AND ABILITY TO SELF SOOTHE) SOFT MUSIC WILL BE PLAYED - there is a seperate room for nap time
3-3:45 - WAKEY WAKEY!! CLEANED UP AND EATING SNACK AT THE TABLE
3:45-4:45 - OUTDOOR PLAY (CARS, WATER TABLE, CHALK, SLIDE!)
4:45-5:30- CLEANED UP TO GO HOME AND PLAYING IN THE PLAY ROOM WAITING FOR PICK UP
What is included
Licensed Infant and Toddler Childcare facilities throughout the community normally operate with 12 children and 4 staff member (1:4 ratio) and are now charging close to $1000/month for children under the age of 2.5 who are enrolled fulltime. These facilitates typically include two snacks, but the parents are responsible for diapers, wipes, a lunch and drinks to last their child throughout the day.
In my experience I have found myself (as a parent) scrambling in the morning to pack my child’s lunch and diaper bag (or already be on my way and realize that I’ve left something at home). I understand the amount of time it takes to get a young child up and going in the morning as well as getting yourself ready for a day of work….With having your child in my home, you will be able to enjoy a hassle free morning and drop your child off without worrying about packing or get them ready (pjs and sleepyheads are welcome!)
In my home, the children will be fed whole grain, whole fat nutritious and organic (where appropriate) breakfast, lunch and snacks ensuring that they are eating from all of the food groups and avoiding inappropriate amounts of sugars. Children will be offered water, whole milk and sugar free real fruit juice. Should your child require formula or a nutritional supplement, there will be a $25 additional charge/month.
Also included will be diapers, wipes
Fees
Fulltime Monday to Friday including meals, snacks, drinks and diapers $920. I require a $100 non refundable deposit. Parents are responsible for full month payments even if children are absent. In the summer months, if your child will only be attending half the month (due to family vacation/holidays) you may pay ½ month only. If your child will be absent for the whole summer (ie- if you were a teacher or had summer holidays) you would still be responsible for atleast HALF the cost of one months care in order to save your spot for the following month.
Part time childcare is available M/T/Th at $45/day or $552 for all of three days. Food and Diapers included.
If you are needing 4hrs or less, the charge is $30/day
Receipts for tax purposes will be given to those parents who will require them on a yearly basis. I must be notified upon signing the childcare contract if it is required by you.
Government Childcare subsidy will be accepted.
Parent Responsibilities
Parents are responsible for paying their fees on time (flexibility is an option as cheques can be dated for the 1st and 15th of each month.) Post dated cheques will be expected at least three months in advance, I also am open to having the fees directly put in my account through your banking system.
I require that within the first week each parent has supplied me with the following items for their child to be left at my home. I can not guarantee that these items will be returned.
-2 bottles (if necessary)
-2 sippy cups
-2 soothers (if needed)
-2 changes of clothes (cheap sweat suits that are able to get dirty and possibly wrecked)
-1 pair of slippers (or robeez)
-1 play yard sheet
-1 blanket for sleeping
-1 soft toy for comfort
-1 sun hat/toque (weather depending)
-1 pair of outdoor shoes (they can be the ones that the child wears, but understand that they could get dirty and need to be weather appropriate.)
-1 pair or rain boots/snow boots (season depending)
-1 rain suit (mec newt suit works well)
-1 jacket/sweater or one piece fleece suit
-swim suit/UV safe clothes
-sunscreen
-diaper cream
