My name is Heidi Arthur and I am a registered ECE. I am starting up a home daycare in Bowmanville which includes daily activity plans, healthy AM/PM snacks and lunch, walks twice per day weather permitting and occasional visits to the local park. I have experience in both daycare and Montessori. If you are interested in meeting in person I will provide a complete start up package including a floor plan with the general daycare layout, a sample activity/lesson plan, a general safety plan, a daily schedule, references and a criminal record check. The daycare area will be in the basement of our home complete with a full 3 piece washroom, mini fridge, water machine, microwave and an egress window providing both added natural light and safety.
Safety policy highlights:
- Washroom in the daycare area will be free of any cleaning supplies or other harmful materials along with all areas of the daycare.
- Access to the stairs will be closed off using a baby gate that fastens to the wall (not the typical pressure fit).
- We will have a safety/fire drill periodically so the children are frequently reminded as to what to do in the unlikely event of an emergency.
- I will use a walking rope as an added safety factor for our daily walks.
