We have a loving home with 2 children, aged 9 months and 2.5 years. Since I'm only looking to take in 1 or 2 more children, you can rest assured knowing your child will have one on one time with me, and won't get lost in a crowd of children. All their needs will be met, as I'll be available to them at all times during the day. Your child will be treated like a part of my family.
We have a large fenced yard, with a sandbox, toddler climber and slide and many toys suited for outdoor play. Inside we have a dedicated playroom with many learning toys, including a train table and art easel.
My philosophy is that children need guided learning as much as they need independent play. I like to foster the need to explore and learn by guiding my children, painting with them, reading with them... but also allowing them to show me how they play, read and learn.
I encourage craft work, playing outdoors and learning activities, like singing ABC's. Every morning starts with a reading circle, where each child can choose a book, and we read it together. Snacks are prepared, generally fruit in the AM. Then we do arts and crafts. Children's naps follow lunch and the as the children wake up, snacks will be available. Napping is done on the upper floor with monitors through the house to ensure they get the rest they need.
All meals are homemade, from vegetable soup to perogies. I'm not opposed to giving children the occasional grilled cheese, and never force a child to eat, if they don't want to.
