Rates for part time
OK ladies, I need your advice again!
I've only had full time spots but, now thinking of offering 2 part time spots out of my 5 openings. I have a daycare family expecting and they are wanting to keep their little one with me part time.
I charge 170 week and was wondering what suggestions you have for part time rate. I would charge more as I'm giving up a full time spot and follow DNA and only have 5 spots in my daycare so I can't make up any income that I would be giving up to do part time.
Thoughts? Still thinking if this is the route to go...I just don't know if I want to juggle and miss out on filling UGH what to do!!

For me, I charge a wee bit more for p/t clients as they're taking up a f/t space. I don't fill up that spot with another client (incase of an emergency and they need more days).
My daily rate is $40/day (that's for 5 days/week), and my part-time rate is $42/day (2-4 days/week). Depending on your area, you might be able to charge a little more for p/t rates!
Hopefully that helps you out a bit!

Makek sure they are using full days and consistent days from week to week so for instance they are coming every Tuesday and Thursday. Then you can put up an ad looking for another child that needs part time care for Mon, Wed, Fri. You can have more than 5 children enrolled in your program provided that no more than 5 of them are at your house on any given day. Make it clear to the part time people that the space is only available for the year till the maternity leave is up. With any luck you will have another family start a leave and still be able to take the part timers.
As far as payment goes I charge slightly more than my full time daily rate. For the mom on mat leave I would probably just prorate it ie reg is $200 a week so $40 a day but charge her regardless of attendance. For the one coming in three days a week it would be $40x3 = $120 so I would probably would charge her $125 for the three days.

My part time rate is between 45-55 /day. I agree with playfelt make sure they are coming the same days everyweek

5 days a week - $35/day
3-4 days a week - $37/day
1-2 days a week - $40/day
I also have them coming the same days each week...

OK ~ I need more hours in a day!!
If you ladies figured out how to squeeze more hours out of a day, please share
I wish I had more time to jump on here!!
Thanks for the advice. I'm not sure if I still want to offer part time but, if I do, I like the idea of having the families commit to certain days. Makes things easier instead of juggling.

I charge $32/day - $160/week for full-time and $35/day (minimum of 3 days per week) for part-time. I do like to have one child as a part-timer and 4 full-timers which gives me 2 days a week with only 4 children, so I have a couple easier days. Some people want to be full all the time but I like it this way and I don't try to fill the empty days at all. It depends on your budget and your preference.
I tell parents that the reason I charge extra for part-time is because I can't fill the empty days and also that they can schedule around stat days whereas the full-timers have to pay for the full weeks even when there is a stat day.
