Private day home helper - AB

I'm going to ask this anywhere I can ...

I'm in Alberta and was wondering if anyone knows what the rules are as far as having a helper in a private day home setting is concerned? Are there certain laws? How do you go about paying them? Do you have to do anything special as far as CPP, etc is concerned when it comes to tax time?

If anyone has any insight on this, it would be great to hear. I'm just beginning my search on information and am unsure where to look at this point.
