Just a quick question. For new families starting in Septembre (day after labor day) do you charge your paid stat day or you just make the official start day Sept.4th ?? Don't know what's the protocol here.
Thanks for yoru help !

I charge them my part time rate for the 4 days that week - since it's a part time week they are starting in that seems a fair compromise to me ;)
Thanks Reggio. They are already part-timers ...what then ? I was not going to charge them but then tought well what other providers do ?
I would charge. If the stat was in the middle of the month would you charge?
If the stat day is a day after they started then I would charge. If it is a day before I would put their start date as 4th September. Basically, I wouldn't charge.
If a family is starting in September then thier fees are due by the first of the month and I would charge for any and all stats in the month. They pay for the spot not for days actually used.
My son stated care in Sept when he was 1 and even though he didn't start until mid month I paid for a full month including the stat. That's just how it works.
Toregone, was it a Dayhome or daycare? I find it a bit unfair to charge families for the whole month.
It was an agency dayhome. The agency told me when I signed on that fees would be payable in full for the month. As the provider had held a spot for me a month and not charged and holding fees I was more than happy to pay for the whole month.
What do you find unfair? Charging by the month in general or just in this situation? Monthly fees are the norm here.
I c. In that case, I would charge the full month too as she hold the spot for you. But if the month starts with stat holiday lets say 1st September is stat and the 2nd September is working day then I would start the contract on the 2nd and wouldn't charge the stat even tho it is in september. I know families pay for the spot not for the days they attent but it doesn't seem right to me. But as I said on my previous post. If they start on the 1st September and the 2nd September is stat then I would charge.
I would charge them. If they signed the forms prior to the holiday, they should pay. I had TWO families start the day after Canada Day and they both paid for Canada Day :)
