How sick do you have to be before you close for the day?
I have to be in PAIN and unable to move from my bed, highly contagious or if something is broken LOL
I have a 2.5 year old daughter, if I can get up to 'watch' her then I can take kids in...it'll just be a "quiet day".
I have only closed once... and hope to never again, lol I will only close if I am legitimately sick... so either vomiting, diarrhea etc.
Not feeling well?
I dont close very often, but when I do....I need to. Usually when the stomach flu comes around and I am or my family is ill. If anyone in my home is vomiting or has any other illness that IS very contagious, I will close. To take care of my family and protect the day care families as well. If I have a bad cold, I dont usually close but I will plan the day with well occupying activities for the children and give myself the ability to rest alot more than normal, and I STAY AWAY from the kids as much as possible.
Let me guess, do you have a bad head cold from the change of weather?
I follow the same rules as my illness policy for the children ~ if I have vomiting or diarrhea I stay closed 24 hours symptom free or if I have a fever over 101 until the 'cause' is confirmed and treated .... otherwise I work through the nasty common cold, migraines, sciatica back pain had a broken rib this winter and worked through that and like others said we just have a 'quiet laid back day'.
