How long for naptime?
I am a fairly new hdcp and I was wondering how long you think kids 1-3 years old should be left to nap/rest? Right now they all sleep from about 1230 til 3. If they wake up they just wait until I come and get them at 3. Does this sound like a reasonable nap/rest time? No one has morning naps. Thanks for your input.

That is about the same timings as at my house. I would try to keep a watch on how quickly after you put them down they are asleep and then again how often they are awake before you get them up. That might give you a better idea if you need to adjust the timings any in the sense of pushing nap till 1 for going down or up at 2:45 instead. Basically though we start at 12:30 to do the naptime routine in the sense of diapers changed, shoes off, beds out and then tucked in so they are in and pretty much asleep by 1. Then around 2:45 - 3 I start to check on them to see who is awake and depending on temperment that day decide if they get up or stay put. Generally mine sleep right through till 3 or even a bit later unless I disturb them. I don't let them go past 3:15.

Mine generally sleep from about 12:30 until 3pm as well...sometimes even 3:15 although that is often when they go down closer to 1pm (depending on how long they take to get ready...I have a couple of toilet trainers who are slowing down the naptime preparations right now..LOL). This sounds quite reasonable to me :)

All my kids will sleep from 12:30 to 3:30-3:45. Some wake up earlier, but are expected to stay quiet until everyone is awake. I have an ocassional child sleep until 4.
