Hi, I was just wondering if you would give a receipt for occasional/drop-in care, such as I have a dcb who comes maybe once or twice a month. Thanks :)

Yes ~ we are required to give reciepts for any childcare offered and required to claim it as income ... I like all my ducks in a row for an audit so my daily attendance records matches my billing and receiving which matches my annual tax receipts given to clients and ultimately my income claimed and everything has checks and balances to be accurate and so forth.
I have one like that and yes I do issue a receipt and I also claim the income as it is illegal not to.
I'm with Regio and Jodaycare - I issue a receipt for every nickel that I earn. I had two of my clients auditted by CRA the first year that I was open - I didn't lose a wink of sleep or stress one bit since I knew that everything was above board on my end. That kind of peace of mind is priceless !
Sleepless nights for a couple of illegal bucks? No thank you, never! Exactly as Reggio said, my attendance must acurately reflect my billing.
The only time I wouldn't issue a receipt for occasional daycare is if I am doing it for free :)
Any time money changes hands, you need to issue a receipt and claim the income.
