The break in routine is quite evident!
Kids testing their boundaries, no sharing whatsoever, grabbing, cranky rubbing eyes....yup. They all had a great weekend:rolleyes:
This was confirmed by DCM. And the cherry on the pie....The 2 daycare siblings each woke 60 min into their nap wailing! They only do this after a weekend at dad's/grandma's house.
ugh. mondays. :(
The parents of my 3 toddler girls are very active outdoorsy people, so Mondays mornings usually brings some obvious injuries on the girls. On did a face plant on a fence and then slid her nose down the fence causing a nice scrap, the other abrasion near the eye (picked up twig on a walk) and the third a nice bump on her forhead from a face plant on the sidewalk. Thing is, when I go for a walk with my injured crew, people look at me like it happened on my watch!
There is a storytime at our local library every Monday morning and for almost 5 years every time the weather allows that's where we go and it makes Mondays a joy. Keeping the children really busy and active works wonders. There have only been a handful of times I actually cancelled the trip because of crazy behaviour. Usually the children are looking forward to it.
I had the "day off" by Dr appoinments for my DD. 3yr dcb will for sure have a ultimate meltdown tomorrow when mom leaves at drop off. it's SO annoying and it's the stupid-loud-blubbering-ugly-cry. I just want to push him :laugh: I'm already dredding hearing it. I've tried ignoring him, quick drop offs & even the "do you want a time out all day?" nothing works.
Agreed! Nap times are definitely wonky on a Monday! This was my toy rotation wknd, so they were very well occupied by all the 'new' toys!!
I'm getting where I like Mondays - the babies come in at 7 and go to bed at 8 and that is only because I listen to them whine for half an hour and sleep two hours, get up play, eat, and go back to bed for 2 more hours and home by 4. The older girls play like they haven't seen each other in a month. I get to just hang and relax. Why oh why do parents not plan their weekends to allow for proper naptimes.
Yeah I don't mind Mondays that much either because the kids are all really tired, so they have a longer than normal nap. I also find that they are all content to just play...so I plan Mondays as mainly freeplay days.
