Starting up Before and After School Care - Etobicoke

Hello Everyone,

I am new to the Forum and am reaching out for your advice and experience! I am getting organized to open an in-home Before & After School program in September 2013. I have 2 daughters (1 year and 31/2 years) and am walking distance from Norseman public school in Etobicoke.

My daughter will be attending fulltime JK in September. I am a Certified Child Life Specialist and would like to use my skills to create a home business doing what I love to do.

My plan is to be open 7:30am-drop off at school and Pick-up from school-6:00pm.

I have lots of questions, but my first is...

Does anyone have any experience with Before & After School Care, how much do you charge per week or month?

I charge $100 per week. which works out to be $20 per day.

I charge $15 for before or after and $25 for both. However I try to stay away from it as you can only have five and I would rather have five full times rather then before and after .... I'm not a fan if the attitude of the school age .... They eat a lot ..... And they are sometimes more work as they are always "bored" ..... Good luck
