My crier is leaving!

I am so relieved and happy, its ridiculous :woot: I had posted previously about her (the cling-on, cry at everything kid, even after being at my home for almost a year!) I had my notice letter ready to terminate, actually printed and prepped to talk with mom about it...I was going to wait until this Thursday to give them the long weekend to digest the news, but it was a particularly terrible day last Monday - the crying started before mom even left and continued all day with the only ok time between 3-4PM after her nap. Mom kept texting all day, worried about her dcg, and I told her exactly what the day was like....crying at everything and wanting to be in her playpen alone for most of the day. Mom then says, "I hope you don't kick her out of daycare because of the crying, cuz we are moving to BC next month". Apparently they are putting their house up for sale over the Easter weekend and moving as soon as it sells! They are moving their furniture out there this long weekend to stage the house for sale....going to live with in laws until they find a place, and not even looking for work before they head out. Mom is going to stay home with dcg and not work anymore. I cannot express just how happy I was to hear this news; so I handed letter over to dad at pick up and explained that I was cutting some kids in the fall so their move works in just fine. BTW, today started with DCG crying at breakfast because I moved her bowl from the edge of the table so she wouldn't spill it....she burst into tears and asked to go to bed. :ohmy: So do not 'get' this kid.

you must be so happy. Imagine how happy the other kids are going to be too.

I am doing a happy dance for you. Yeah!

I have a 16 month old that is showing of signs of becoming this way. The only time she is truly happy is alone in her playpen. She comes at 7 and is fine till everyone is here and then every little thing is just more than she can bear and she cries. She doesn't always sleep up there just lay and talk to herself. But it is also effecting her afternoon nap of course cause she did nothing to make herself tired just rested so for two weeks now we have been not letting her go to bed and just making her cope and it can get pretty noisy but she needs to learn other ways of coping which means find a place to play that no one else is. I made sure I have some corners and hiding spots available so she has options. The mom was talking about how she has been acting when they visit grandma - an aunt and two cousins live there too and it is the same there so at least I know it isn't just daycare. She stays in moms arms for the first hour they visit then plays only when mom is there to play too. Up to a month ago there were never any issues playing with the group and it's all the same kids. So just a quirk she will need to get over - no napping just support to cope.

Playfelt, that is exactly what happened here! The family left for a week, apparently dcg fell down the stairs and from then on Mom has been carrying her all over, and overall babying her. Since their week off, dcg has been coming in her pjs every morning, because she doesn't want to get dressed in the morning (according to mom).....so the almost two year old is dictating at least that aspect of home life, who know's what else?! We went out to the library this morning, all the other kids were off exploring, looking at books, playing - where was dcg? Glued to me, and constantly vying for attention - including trying on the crying for all kinds of crazy things, like that she didn't have certain socks on! The other kids have definitely begun to notice the excess of crying and ask me why dcg cries all the time, doesn't want to play, etc...I think they will have a hard time finding another dayhome once they move, if mom ever does decide to go back to work!

Oh, happy days!! So now the countdown is on.... :)
