Anyone had to take a parent to small claims?

I'm struggling with weather or not I should take one of my non paying parents to small claims court. Does anyone know if I can ask to have court costs reimbursed in the case? Has it come out positive for anyone?

We have had to do it a couple of times over the last 15 years and used a collection agency. We usually won, but the costs were high and sometimes it just didn't seem worth it...the stress and anger involved. Nonetheless, the principle was worth it. You have to balance both..and don't count on being fully reimbursed or having costs covered. You will probably get some of the money back, but you will lose a lot of time from your life and job.
