April Fools Day
Anyone play any pranks today or have any played on you?
I played one on my almost 5 year old daughter. Last night I filled her cereal bowl with water then froze it. This morning I poured some cereal and milk over top of the ice. You should have seen her look of confusion when her spoon wouldn't dip into the cereal. I was killing myself laughing!
She loved the idea of April Fools day and I did some fun stuff today for all the kids - so today was Backwards day. I have two 4 year old and a 5 year old today, so they are old enough to enjoy the humor of silliness and pranks. Everyone wore mismatched backwards clothing and I turned as much stuff as I could upside down (pictures, chairs, our circle time calendar). Since the chairs were upside down, we had our snacks and lunch picnic style on the floor today. We also did the order of activities backwards for circle time and sang some April Fools themed songs (like Old McDonald, but the animals made the wrong sounds). I also read "Seeing Red" by Robert Munsch, where two boys trick each other into eating yucky things because they think it will make their hair change colour.
It has been a fun day, made up for the fact that the windchill was -26 this morning!
I also plan on surprising my girls this evening and serving dinner backwards, so they get dessert first. I think they will be happy! :)

I had family all in an uproar about it !! No one understood it as a practical joke and I'm sure some expected to see a baby at Christmas !! That sounds really fun Amanda! My kids are all too young to get it.
It would suck for anyone with big and exciting news for today because nobody believes them lol

I switched the kids cubbies all around and hung their jackets and back-packs on different hooks. I also put the chairs on the tables, turned all the books around, put food coloring in one of the girl's cup to make her water look like grape juice. I even let them have a treat for breakfast! That one really shocked them!lol
