Costco
Just wanted to let you know about a costco experiment I tried. I was on the fence about buying a $55 membership, but heard great things about costco. I decided to try it out for a year and see if it's worth it and it is!! I used to shop at sobey's. I still do sometimes to get their sushi and other things costco doesn't carry. I actually kept track of the difference in prices/sizes of products and after one month I already made my $55 back in savings. I am also going out less to buy things since many products come in large sizes which helps free up some time. What do all you think of costco?

I love Costco. Nuff said.

Me too, and I have the executive membership so I get a cheque once a year for 2% of everything I have spent that year. I also write off part of the membership at tax time. :)

My DH works there :) so I love it! He works out of a separate company within Costco though, so we still have to pay for our membership. We used to get the executive membership, but found that the cheques we were getting were smaller than the price of the executive membership, so we went back to the regular one.
They have the cheapest price on certain stuff like yogurt drinks ($8.99 for 16) and veggie straws ($4.99 for a ginormous bag) and their produce is a really good price too I find.

The nearest costco is 2 hours from me but we have a membership and shop there 4-6x a year, sometimes a bit more if we are in the city. They have some things that I always buy there but they also have a lot of stuff that is cheaper if I buy on sale at sobeys or walmart so you have to know your prices.
I love costco products though...some stuff I willingly pay more for just because I like it better :)

I love love love to shop there. I find that having the daycare kids plus my family that the bulk sized products are perfect, and all of the fresh produce is used with in a week.

Costco is a weekly trip for me !!!!! I love their maple turkey bacon !!! And produce as well !! I used to have the executive when all the kids lived at home but have downgraded to the $55 level. I buy a lot of my toys from there as well , and come on , they have the best poutine hands down !!! Lol

There are two not too far from me - about 25 mins away, so I go frequently. About every couple of weeks. Just the milk alone is a huge saving as milk is soooo expensive here.
Six day care children, and two teens of the male variety who can eat a weeks worth of groceries as I'm serving up supper, it's so worthwhile. Plus teens travel in packs. So when one walks in the door, there tends to be a few followers as well.
