Do you have any kids on a completely different scedule than the rest of your group?

I have a DCG I posted about last week re: nap time. I am just curious if anyone has ever had a child in their care that is on a different schedule than your group (while at home). This girl goes to bed late and sleeps in. She is not always tired when it's nap time. I have recently moved snack time up in the morning as my group cannot wait until 9 when she arrives and now that the warmer weather should be here soon, we want to be outside early in the morning. I also hoped this would encourage them to bring her a little earlier as well. She is a great little girl and I like her family but I don't know if this can work for the long term or my nap time will be a battle every day!

My last handful was like that. He came here 2-3 days a week and stayed home with mom the other days. She said if he didn't get down for nap around 11 than he wouldn't at all. I told her multiple times that wouldn't work here and gave her my schedule. They, IMO, never did try to do it this way at home. I don't think she really cared tbh. He went to bed early, 630-7, was up early with them, napped at 11 for a couple of hours and I think they enjoyed that schedule.

Thankfully he would play quietly in his playpen for the most part. He would nap for 30 mins or so some days.....some days he would kick his playpen, scream and cry and cause such a ruckus that I'd have to get him. He was my only "problem napper" so it wasn't a big deal most days but it would have been much nicer had he napped...some afternoons were brutal with him because he was tired and cranky!

I suggest asking mom to get her on the same schedule as you and see if that helps!

Yes. All my families get here at 730 which means up at 630. I have a 3 year old who gets here anywhere from 9-10 daily. He sleeps until 8. We had a brief time where he was disruptive in the nap room because he wasn't tired. He goes down good now and is quiet. I don't think he naps weekends at all and usually comes Monday mornings very cranky.

It's to hard to have multiple schedule. You'll never get a break. Everyone has to been on the same. I allow drop off only up till 9am. That way we can go do,our am activity while not waiting around for anyone and the kids all get an active morning so they are ready for rest by nap time. I would suggest having a drop off cut off. Otherwise you are going to burn out fast if you have to watch this little one and keep her quiet while the others are napping. Her parents need to get on board with your schedule not theirs. U can just say it nicely that you are finding it hard to accommodate more then one schedule and it makes the day flow smoother if everyone follows the same routine, etc. good luck.
