Great ideas! You've inspired me! I found some big pet pillows on Walmart.com for $10 ea. and found a retired friend/handy carpenter who will make me a shelf with his remnants kicking around (oh the power of a Tim Hortons). I told my husband if he's ever looking for me, I must just be curled up in the cosy reading nook myself;)
I love little book areas for kids and it can be really simple such as some baskets with books and comfy pillows, to shelves or bookcases. All my little ones ages 1-3 love reading. I incorporate it in during parts of the day. Besides me reading to them, prior to lunch and after nap and just before pickup (if we are not outside), it's reading time. That's when all the toys are away and they find their comfy little spot and a book. It's adorable watching them curl up with a book.
