Mimi, thanks for your insight. I guess I have to be careful with neighbors.
I really do have great experience with neighbors, one toddler in my care is now 3 and he was here since he was 1. His mom and I get along well, and love the relationship.
I also have after school little girl, who is a neighbor. Paid on time, no problems.
These clients are both really good, and paid on time. I guess, there is always one rotten apple in a bag!
Someone said earlier ' we are too nice, and my husband said - "yes, that's you honey. you never want to hurt someone else feelings - even if it means you get hurt".
Right now, I feel a sense of change in myself to make this business run smoothly.
I have this in all my contracts (private and subsidized)
So far all my families have signed without questioning this. And yes I have made sure they read this.Quote:
We agree that if we end up in court over money or any other reasons (payment for services, reimbursement cost etc. ) all court fees are our responsibility and not that of Valerie's Home Daycare (Valerie XXXXX) or any members of her family or staff. We are also responsible to cover any and all wages lost to Valerie XXXXXXXX, any of her family member an any and all staff who have had to miss work do to going to court for any reason. We will also pay for any staff required to cover the daycare for days Valerie XXXXXXXX has to attend court or meet with her layer. We are aware that if any payments of fees or reimbursements are not made Valerie's Home Daycare can have a collections Agency collect the money on Valerie XXXXXXXXX behalf.
Its not going to stop every one from screwing me over, but it will make some people think twice about it. You need to protect yourself and your business.
I also make all my private clients pay on the Friday for the following two weeks. No money, no care.
go ahead. I don't mind helping out.Quote:
hi valerie,
this is very helpful. is it okay to copy this words, and add it to my contracts? This would make sense, as you said, they will think twice about it.
