Dad just picked up....I said that honestly, this was nothing to worry about ( literally nothing on his bum) and suggested they try to give his bum some 'naked' time to air dry if they are at all worried. He laughed and said they are first timers and panic about everything!!
Congrats on your great job getting your daycare back in the swing Wonderwiper. I noticed that you said this child eats a lot of grains and rice. Did you know those are acidic foods? If you google acidic and alkaline foods and read what they do to the body that might help you understand better what the child eats and if that's affecting him too. It's a good thing for all of us to know when we run into a child with bad rashes especially. But then you can impress the parents even more with your knowledge!
Also, I would never let a parent accuse me of causing the diaper rash. I know I feed the children a lot more nutritious food than some of the parents and I'm sure you do too.
Don't worry momof4...I very nicely suggested that nothing was wrong and that I had not fed him something to cause it. My concern was that there was seriously nothing there!!! You would have thought he had a bleeding blistering rash!! I have seen rashes like that...not fun, but come on, serious overreaction!!
