I have found with new parents that they are often afraid of the contract and never realized how "formal" the whole process was going to be and get scared by things in the contract like late fees and dos and don'ts.
I also don't like giving all my forms to a person trying to start their own daycare and being sneaky so this way you have to come and get them. I know some will email things to the family after but at the same time it becomes easy for the family to forget about the interview if they don't have my contact info right there in front of them when deciding who to go with. In the grand scheme of things the cost for the paper and ink really isn't that much and I include a couple of past newsletters and a couple articles that reflect my learning style and send them off with the idea of go through these things and get back to me with any questions or concerns you haven't thought of tonight.
