Wow, I have to pay 0.20 per text, so that would make me crazy! Of course, none of my parents have my cell phone number anyway LOL. The only time I have ever texted is when I was in the waiting room and my daughter and son-in-law were in the delivery room and I wanted updates on how labour was going... didn't mind spending the twenty cents each time...
I have one that emailed me everyday... just once everyday and I thought it was annoying after a while, so I imagine texts all day sure is worst. With my email mom, at first I answered detailed emails and at the end, just a very short sentence : She is all good ! Then it sort of stopped lol
For the first little bit, I tell parents that I will update at nap time via text or email. Most seem to be receptive to this.
