There is for sure a lot more moms working part time or parents able to split the duties and only needing part time care. At one point a couple years ago I had 14 kids on my list with everything from one day to three days a week and even had two that worked at the same place and did alternate weeks - ie whichever parent was working got the daycare space. Was so nice to finally get back into a more stable situation knowing which 5 kids were coming every day.

2 children sharing a spot works great until one family leaves......it's really hard to find someone who fits that exact schedule. I will take part time if needed but they now have to pay for a full time spot. I only have one part time child and she was "grandfathered" in so her parents still only pay for 3 days a week but any new child that may need part time will pay full time.
A lot of parents have one spouse working shifts so they only need part time care and I feel bad for that but I have to have a wage I can live on or it wouldn't benefit me to do this and then they all would be without daycare.

When I first opened 8 years ago I was stuck with very sporadic part-timers but now I get so many calls for full-time. My two part-time families that I have share a full-time spot so if one of them leaves I will have to change it to a full-time spot as well.

I am a little different. Right now, I ONLY have part timers. It is what is working for me. Some days are a little lighter, and some days are crazy. LoL
I have thought about adding one (maybe two) full time kids. But I sort of like what we have going on, so I am hesitant.
