I've got all teachers right now. It may backfire on me, I'm waiting to see how the summer plays out. They have the option of not coming and not paying, but then they can't come until school starts since I will get a summer kid. So if they wanted to run errands or set up their classroom they can't use their spot here all summer. The other option I'm hoping they'll pick is switching to part time all summer. I can manage with reduced income all summer, so we'll see how it works out.
I should add, if they don't come all summer they need to pay me for September before they leave.
Hmm, a few different good ideas!!
In the end I will likely continue to do what I do but it's nice to hear what others do.
I was charging my teacher for 3 days during the summer, March break and Christmas were $0. I told her this summer would be full time and she was fine with that. She has been with me three years.
Wow, so many good suggestions! I think the way I'm going to handle it is charge my temporary withdraw fee, with half of it up front and the other half partway through summer. That way I get a "buffer" payment and hopefully a guarantee of a return in September :) Seems to be a great family and she did say she may drop off a few days here and there through the summer. :)
