U lose money when they only pay half days because u can't find another client to fill in those half days. U could also get a family that wants all full days so you get full pay. For these reasons I no longer offer part time care as I don't want to lose out on money. They pay for full time regardless if they come for a half day.
I charge 5 dollars less for part-time (maximum of 5 hours). In a way, they save a bit.
That's taking a hit with my income now that we're only limited to 5 kids. It's hard to find kids who'll fill up the empty hours - they're paying for the space.
See I do the opposite if anyone is looking for part-time (by part-time I mean not attending daycare 5 days a week) my rates are higher due to the loss of income of the days not attending. I don't recommend doing half day pay because you will loose ALOT of income. Charge by day (even better by week) do not charge by hour of half days because it gets to messy and complicated. A day is a day so if that want the space for that day they must for the full rate for it.
