Neither have I luckily. I know people that have had to call for an ambulance, it always seemed to arrive quickly.

My MIL actually just used one yesterday....my FIL complains about everything (and I mean everything!!) he didn't complain yesterday so I assume it went well lol
It is obviously your personal preference. However, you should know that a cell phone does not provide your location to 911 immediately like a traditional land line does. If you are unable to communicate your address they can trace cell location via towers but it is not pinpoint accurate and takes time. Internet based (voip) landlines do not have direct 911 access either.
I will always have a landline.
