Yep, got it here too. I thought it was weird that it just said "your area" and not the city name.

Do you think I should change my email and daycarebear passwords?
No, our email accounts have not been compromised. The scam artists merely fished our email addresses from our daycarebear listings which contain them. They do not have control of your email or daycarebear account. The scam is they try to convince you to accept their child sight unseen for a future date, as they are "out of the country" and will be visiting soon. Then they want to send you payment ahead of time, but in a way that turns out to be phony, plus they send you too much, and they want you to send them the difference, which put YOU out the money when it eventually bounces. Or something similar. It's a scam that's been around for awhile.
I got one this morning! Thought it was very odd! Who does that?? LOL DELETE!
Got it too. I hope they don't lure any unsuspecting providers into their scam :( For someone desparate to fill spaces, two kids who only come from 10-3 sounds like a pretty sweet deal I am sure. Be careful everyone! If it seems to good to be true it probably is!
How come I never get these? heh heh, I feel left out.
I got a real one in April from a family visiting from overseas. This was legit and their 3 yo stayed with me for 3 mos while they were in Toronto for work.
got the same one too ...I deleted it
I got the same email as well as my neighbour- and she though it was kinda weird as well.. and we're in Ottawa
I got this same email this morning and I am in London, ON. 5-6 other providers that are on a FB London network also received it.
I got it too!! I have gotten weird emails like this before. Whenever anyone emails me in regards to space in my daycare, I always ask them to provide me with a telephone # so I can call them and speak in person about what their needs are and what I can offer them. If they are really interested, they will provide # and then we chat over the phone. I don't give out my address anyway unless I speak to an actual person.
