Help!!!

I have a dck that started a month ago. Every time he's here, he has bad diarrhea and it goes all up his back and on my furniture and toys. It's disgusting!!! The first couple of times it happened, I didn't think much of it. But, this has been happening for a month now. I'm getting sick and tired of cleaning up diarrhea off of my furniture, floor and toys. It's really sick. He makes such a mess that I end up having to bath him too since it's all over his body. Have any of you had to deal with a dck constantly having diarrhea and it getting all over the house? Would you terminate over this? I don't know how much longer I want to deal with a child doing this!

Is he not having this at home? Or is he only having bowel movements at your place?

Yuck, You lasted longer then me! I would not allow the child to come back on day 2 with that level of diarhea.

Could be an allergy? Milk maybe, if he's that young did they just switch him from formula to milk? Have you talked to the parents, have they seen a dr.? Doesn't sound normal to me.

It is so disgusting!!! My contract says 1 month notice, but I don't even know if I can deal with this for another month :S What would you guys do?

Sounds like a milk allergy to me. I would insist that the parents get him checked out.

I'm going to talk to his parents tonight at pick up... if it's going on here, it must be going on at home as well. His parents and I have noticed that his stomach looks very bloated at times... it could easily be lactose intolerance! Come to think of it, he just had a glass of milk and cheese about an hour earlier before this explosion happened.

Was going to suggest keeping a record of milk intake and when it happens as that is a likely cause - especially when you mentioned the bloating too.

If a daycare child had a mess sooooo bad that they required a bath, I would be calling the parents to pick up. I cannot take that much time away from the other kiddos.
Definitely talk to mom and dad, because if this is going on consistently, something is up.

I have a lactose intolerant boy in my daycare and those are the kind of poops he has a LOT. However, I don't bathe him, I enforce my diarrhea policy and call his parents and expect him to be picked up. I clean him up the best I can with his wipes (provided by parents) and change his clothes and put all the soiled clothing in a bag for the parents to clean. That is NOT my job! I always tell them they have to come get him because he needs a bath.
