I open mine on Christmas Day.
I always just 'ask' would you like me to open it now or put it under the tree for Christmas morning cause well some people like to 'see' the gift being open and I like to respect that and others want you to have a surprise for Christmas morning ... most of the time the kids are standing right there and they are jumping up and down open it now ;)
Usually open infront of them or open after tehy leave and then call and thank them. I couldnt wait until christmas! heehee
I wait until they leave and then open it. LOL
I wait till they are gone and then do it in front of the group. The child is always excited - if old enough about it and often has no idea what is in there either so to them it is a present they want to see too.
I wait until they leave too.
I ask when they want me to open it. If they state they don't care, I open it up! I can't wait that long! lol
What did everyone get from their daycare families ?
I got - $100 gift card to Boston Pizza
- a beautiful tree onrament and a movie night out pass for 2 :)
and my last family will bring something tomorrow.
I open with the child after parent leaves so then I have time to write a thank you note as well as tell them at pick up my appreciation. I received restaurant gift card and movie gift card and dcg made a decoration for my tree, restaurant gift card, swarovski crystal earrings (gorgeous), homemade brownies, bottle of wine, picnic basket with little goodies inside. Very generous and I am very grateful:flower:
Wow mimi, you got nice presents! It's really nice of you to write thank you cards. Do your clients send you thank you cards for all that you do too?
unless the kids or that parents want me to open right away, I wait until Christmas day as well! I prefer Christmas morning for all gift opening. All good things are worth the wait, that's the fun of Christmas, waiting for the big day!
Hey Momof4, no the thank you cards don't come my way. I quess it is old school to send them, but it is never wrong to do so. Just manners I quess. Merry Christmas to you!!
I got a painted tin with snowman figure filled with candy and a chapters gift card tucked in it, a card with a lovely note and $75 in credit card gift cards, my mom that is in IT set up my new laptop computer saving me $150 at Staples - bought the laptop on sale and used credit card gift cards I had gotten from families when they left in Sept for school so got even more off. I got a card and gift card for Michaels from my other family. No idea what the Chapters or Michaels cards are worth but both were given knowing what I like. I am off now till Jan 2 as all parents have at least one parent home till then and are keeping the kids home. I also had no complaints from any parent about paying for the stats and extra days which was so nice compared to what many have to go through. Merry Christmas to everyone.
