Yep I would. Like you, the first time, I can dismiss as eating too fast, running around outside too hard, something not sitting right in his belly, but second time, I would make a call too.
Send the child home!
Yup. You did the right thing. Regardless if it is viral....you cannot go around cleaning up throw up. If a child is throwing up due to screaming, or playing hard, or whatever...I don't second guess. You've earned a ticket out of daycare for the day
Throw up = go home regardless of the reason
I would have done the same as you. The first throw up I would have chalked it up too hard crying but 2nd time would have gotten a phone call for pick up. Fever and throwing up are 2 different things and don't always go hand in hand so no fever would make no difference to me.
I would have done the same too :)
Any of my dcks go home as soon as they vomit at daycare. I wouldn't even wait for a second round. It's unsanitary and I don't want to have it in the carpet, house and risk making others sick.
I am not sure that there has to be a fever. We had a stomach flu go through the daycare a couple of years ago and there was no fever....just a lot of suffering ;)
I would do the same !! I would prob think the first was from crying but after the second bout I would have them ready for pick up ! I think any sick child needs to be at home !
Yup. Vomit = home time. It's not up to me to diagnose the reasons. :)
I know what you're saying and I agree to an extent. However, it's no different than your own child I would imagine. You likely don't take your child to the doctor for a diagnoses every time they throw up. Sometimes it's quite clear that a child threw up from crying too hard, gagging on food etc. However, two times throwing up is likely an illness related diagnoses. Most times vomit at dc is an instant go home for me but with a hard cry before hand I can see why the OP might have thought it wasn't illness related
I think that was the right thing to do. I like to treat the children like an extension of the family and the way i would want my daughter taken care of in someone else's home. The first time i give them the benefit of the doubt if there is hard crying or eating . as soon as it happens a second time then yes call the parent's and have child picked up. Parent's chose home care because they want a home like environment, they don't want a call for every little spit up.
