Right now I am having trouble with a family.
The problem is not with the child, the problem is the disrespect from the parents.
They have been late paying me, have not paid the full amount, the drop off time is 6am and sometimes they do not show up, even though they know that I get up early just for them. A few days ago the dcd was disrespectful when I called to ask if their child would be at my home the next day. Because of his attitude I told them I was not available for today. I do not want this family in my home anymore. Any advice on how to handle this? Oh yeah they live across the street from me, a busy street but still across the street.

Just wanted to give an update on this family.
I took a long hard look at this situation and decided enough.
I should not be intimidated by them because they live across the street, they should be intimidated because I LIVE CROSS THE STREET.
Well I put my big girl pants on, went over and told them the way it is.
They are on a probation period ( 6 months) they must pay every month in advance.
If they do not call when their child will not be here I will take this as their immediate notice.
If there is any disrespect on their part I will give immediate notice. They signed a contract agreeing to all of these terms. I also demanded an apology and surprise I got it.
I decided that I work too long and hard for them to take advantage of me. They seemed very surprised that I stood up to them, like any other bully they caved when confronted. I am planning on replacing them as I do not want them in my home any longer than need be. Ahhhh it felt so good. Thanks agsin for being there when I needed to vent.
