"Olga has been our daycare provider for over three years and for two of our children. From the first day, Olga has always provided a loving and welcome environment for our children. Olga was very accommodating of our children's schedules when they first started and put in effort to keep their schedule consistent with what we followed at home. This is something that many daycares are not flexible on and we were very appreciative of her efforts. I am happy that Olga makes efforts to let the children play outside as much as possible and that they get lots of fresh air and activity. Inside, there is always lots of music and dance happening. The food provided is very nutritious and they eat plenty of fruits and vegetables.

Both our children were very happy every day to go to Olga's and our oldest still talks fondly of her time there and how she misses it. We are very happy that Olga has been a part of raising our young children!"

"Our family has known Olga since August 2017. My daughter was in her care at Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Daycare, an independently run home daycare in Ottawa.

We came to meet Olga after a colleague’s recommendation and quickly saw why she came so highly recommended. Olga offers a clean, warm home for children to play in and explore. My daughter very easily felt at home, happy and safe in Olga’s care. As a young 18-month old, this was rare for our daughter and we feel a testament to the environment Olga provides in her home. Although feeling happy and safe are our priorities, we found in Olga all the other important aspects we were looking for in a daycare: nutritious meals and snacks, an open, main-floor area to play and outdoor options, which included her backyard and nearby parks. There was also circle/music time with the group, which the children seemed to enjoy. Olga also introduced to the piano to the children.

Olga was very forthcoming with providing first aid/CPR certification and police-record checks for all her family members who would be in the house. My daughter came to know Olga’s husband and her parents as an extended daycare family. Olga’s mother was very familiar with the children and played very well with them. We appreciated that this meant a seamless transition for the odd day when Olga needed to be absent.

As a parent I appreciated Olga’s willingness to chat at drop-off/pick-up times. Olga was always willing to listen and to support our daughter’s development as an extension of what we were trying to provide her at home. For example, Olga was a true partner in helping our daughter with her potty training and her sleep schedule. This was in large part due to the fact that Olga was willing to continue our home “practices” with our daughter during the day.

We will all miss Olga when our daughter starts school. We are grateful for the time our daughter spent with Olga and for being in an environment that has given her the confidence to explore new things."

"July 2020

I met Olga Galla 3 years ago in the summer of 2017, when I was looking for a home daycare for my 2 year old son Samuel. Samuel and I went to meet Olga, and have a look at her daycare. I was immediately impressed by the space Olga made available to the kids in the daycare. Olga welcomes her daycare kids into her home. Her living room is their playroom, filled with all the toys you can imagine. Samuel was immediately drawn to the Thomas train set, and played contently while Olga and I chatted about her daycare philosophy. Olga is committed to providing all of the children in her care with an experience of “home”. The kids each have their own room for napping and Olga provides all the comforts of home. 3 years later, Samuel still talks about the delicious meals he ate at Olga’s.

The transition for Samuel to Olga’s daycare was a tough one. Samuel had previously been with his older sister (Olivia) at a home daycare that had recently closed. With Olivia heading off to school, Samuel was on his own. Olga worked tirelessly to make Samuel feel welcome. She packed up his “dollies” and carried them when they went on outings. As well, she found creative solutions to ensure Samuel that felt loved and comforted in her home. Music was a constant companion throughout the day for all of the children in her care – which Samuel loved. In no time at all, Samuel had found a home at Olga’s and his own place in it.

Given Olga’s music expertise, and how much both of our kids respond to her warm nature and encouragement, we were keen to have Olga start teaching Olivia and Samuel piano. Olga teaches piano to both Olivia (starting in 2018, at the age of 5), and Samuel (starting in 2019, at the age of 4). The kids attend weekly private lessons. While not a pianist myself, I am an educator. It is evident that Olga carefully plans the lessons for both Olivia and Samuel, ensuring that the progression of skills via the “songs” chosen capture the kids attention and imagination. The kids love their time practicing with Olga, and are keen to share with her the songs they have been practicing at home leading up to their lesson. Olga is always enthusiastic about their hard work and the skills they have gained, turning playing the piano into a game and a time treasured by all. The lessons go by too quickly, and Olga always spends additional time with Olivia and Samuel, ensuring they feel they have had the opportunity to show off their new skills.

This past spring (2020) we stopped our weekly face-to-face lessons with Olga due to COVID-19. The kids felt lost without their weekly interaction with Olga. In attempt to provide some sense of normalcy, we set up practices at home and sent videos to Olga. True to Olga’s nature, she responded immediately to each video pointing out what the kids were doing well and offering tips for improvement. Once again she made Olivia and Samuel feel important and shared with them her joy of the piano and love of music.

Over the last three years Olga has played a critical role in our family and the Olivia’s and Samuel’s development. We are keen for Olivia and Samuel to once again have the opportunity to learn from Olga.

"My son attended Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star daycare from the age of 1 to 2.5. The only reason we switched was due to a change in commute to work, and it was a very difficult decision! When we found Twinkle, Twinkle, it was after interviewing over 10 home-based daycares in Old Ottawa South and Alta Vista. Olga’s professionalism and the caring, bright atmosphere of her daycare stood out by far.

Our son transitioned to daycare with Olga very quickly, and I’m sure this was due to the loving and attentive care she provides to each child. He flourished in Olga’s care. The space is fun and creative – Kohen loved singing and playing piano with Olga, learning educational games and venturing outdoors to the well-equipped backyard, nearby park, or well-structured, city-run playgroup. Kohen’s vocabulary and communication developed very well at Twinkle, Twinkle. He loved all the kids at the daycare, and learned manners and sharing. At the end of a long weekend at home, he would clearly miss Olga and the kids.

I am happy to provide additional information or a reference for Olga. We will miss her dearly!

"It is with great pleasure that I write this reference for Olga Galla. We have been thrilled with the care that she has given our son Noah over the last six months. When looking for a daycare our main concern was finding someone who would keep Noah safe and love him, Olga has provided this and so much more.

Noah started with Olga just around his first birthday. One of the things that I really appreciated was Olga’s willingness to adapt to Noah’s schedule and routine rather than vice versa. For example, many of my friends had to transition their young children to one nap before starting daycare but Olga was able to accommodate two naps for Noah until he was ready to transition to one. This, among many other things, helped make Noah’s transition to daycare seamless.

Being a first-time mom heading back to work I really appreciated Olga’s flexibility with pick-ups and drop-offs, the pictures throughout the day and Olga always finding time for updates at the beginning of the day from us and at the end of the day from her. Her communication with parents is excellent and something that both my husband and I value.

Olga’s home is set up so well for her daycare. I really valued that Noah would have his own room to nap in, that there are so many different play options both inside and out and that it is always so clean. In addition, a real bonus is that Olga takes the kids out so much. Most days they are visiting either the school or the library – both expose the kids to so many different learning and playing opportunities.

She is kind, flexible, patient and fun. She has created a warm and loving environment that Noah has thrived in. We feel so lucky to have had such a positive experience with Olga; I would highly recommend her as your child’s daycare provider. Please feel free to contact me if you have any additional questions.

"Our son has been enrolled in Twinkle Twinkle Little Star Daycare with Olga since he was 18 months old, he is now two and a bit so it has just been shy of a year. We found Olga through Daycare Bear, a website search engine for local home daycares. She had great reviews online and after being to several other interviews and getting discouraged, we knew instantly when meeting Olga and seeing her Daycare that she was exactly what we were looking for. She had a great caring vibe, focused around family and togetherness, as her mother was actively assisting her at the daycare a few days a week. I instantly felt trust with Olga and knew that she would take care of my child.

Leaving your child for the first time was one the hardest things I ever had to do, but Olga made sure that I felt comfortable. She sends updates daily so parents know how and what they are doing, and gives a great rundown at pickup time. She provides separate sleeping areas for each child, which was very important to us, and she makes sure to cater to each child’s specific needs. She feeds them heathy home cooked meals, and my child is one of the pickiest eaters ever, but she ensures to keep trying new things and updates me on progress and what he has eaten that day.

Olga also provides activities every day, whether that’s going to the park, playing outside in the backyard or learning and playing music etc. We most of all appreciate that she takes the children as often as she can, to a local school play group and library which is located within walking distance of her house. My son comes home and tells us all about his day at school and what he learned and play with. It gives him the opportunity to not only play with his friends at daycare, but to meet and play with new kids all the time.

It is wonderful as a parent to see growth, learning and new skills from your child and I am confident in saying that our son has really benefitted from being in daycare. We are pleased and satisfied with his care at Twinkle Twinkle Little Star with Olga and will continue to recommend her as a daycare provider, as we have already recommended an acquaintance who enrolled their 12 month old a few months ago. She is a great person and truly cares about the well-being of “her children”."

"I entrusted Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star Daycare, and more specifically Olga Galla, with my young daughter’s care starting September 2015 at which time she was all but 10 months old. Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star stood out to me as a daycare because of the level of cleanliness, the fun & child friendly main area overflowing with creative and fun toys for young children, the well-maintained fenced-in yard that the children so love to play in, not to mention the genuine care that I could feel from Olga towards the children she cared after.

I have been nothing but impressed and overjoyed with the level of care that my daughter has received at this daycare from the healthy nutrition she benefits from everyday to the amount of exercise and outings she gets to enjoy.

Olga and her team make sure to listen to the parents and to take every child’s specific needs and habits into consideration to ensure growth and development of the child while maintaining a healthy routine. I would highly recommend this daycare to anyone looking to have their children be taken care of just like they would be at home."

"Our son has been at Twinkle Twinkle Little Daycare since he was 10 months old. It was a difficult transition for me going back to work and not being able to care for my son during the day. However, from the moment that we visited Twinkle Twinkle Little Daycare, I knew that he would be well cared for with Olga. My husband and I were initially quite attracted to Olga’s welcoming and caring demeanor, her flexible hours of operation, homemade and healthy meals/snacks, and the lovely setup of the daycare on the main floor of the house, which offers plenty of natural sunlight, space to run around, and plenty of fun and educational toys to play with.

We have been very happy with the level of care that our son has received over the past 10 months with Olga, as well as her mother Galina and part-time helper Raisa. Olga is a very reliable, loving and caring person, and we feel lucky to have found her. She’s been very accommodating and flexible to our individual needs. Sebastian is exposed to a variety of music and thoroughly enjoys dancing and playing piano at daycare. He enjoys plenty of time outdoors now that the weather is nice, they often play in the fenced-in backyard, go on walks and outings to the nearby library, play group, or park.

Our son really enjoys his time at daycare, and although it sometimes breaks my heart, he sometimes doesn’t want to leave at the end of the day. I know my son receives the best possible care at Twinkle Twinkle Little Daycare and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Olga and her team. We plan on sending our 2nd child to Twinkle Twinkle Little Daycare next year."
