Oh ok. So post dated cheques wasn't really the problem....it was her wanting care provided before she paid. That's a big no here too!!

I do post-dated cheques, due either all on the 1st or divided btwn the 1st and 15th, and I get 6 months worth of cheques at a time, so I don't have to hunt them down. This way, the care is paid for in advance. I would not accept a cheque for care after it has already taken place.
It's slow here in Burlington too. In my area, there are providers on every street, and parents no longer seem to care about quality care anymore, they just want the cheapest bottom line. My ECE diploma/working in a licensed centre for years, and educational program really don't mean much or give me an edge anymore. How sad. Literally it could be the difference of $2-$3 a day more than someone who whimsically sets up a daycare , and they don't care. It's a sad reflection. And you wonder why the ECE's don't stay in this profession.....
