I don't ever want to have school aged children in care. I am keeping my little JK girl in care only because she's been here 3 1/2 years, she's an angel and follows all my rules. But my grandson is here today for his PD day and he certainly challenged my authority this morning! I wouldn't want to do it on a regular basis.

As for the 'toddler restraint systems' which is what I call the ponies and puppies and Elmo that I use with the ropes attached to my wrist, it saves lives. There was one day when I was walking with all my children on a busy street and the 2 year old got confused and darted the wrong way. If I hadn't had him attached to my wrist he would have been DEAD, no doubt about it. I still shake when I think about it. BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY!!!

OMG!! I can't give you any suggestions but I do want to thank you for posting this. I have 2 b/a kids and another who goes to school every other day and that 1 hr in the morning and 1 hr after school takes everything out of me. The 3 kids (including my own) are soooooo good during the day and then when the school aged kids show up everything goes sideways and it's all I can do to keep everything kosher. Thank you for posting this as I was starting to think it was me. Great tips from you other ladies. Thank you!!

Exactly! My day goes so smoothly until I pick them up from school and then I feel like my head is going to explode.
