Would it help to advertise your daycare as "one of the few in ratio daycares in the area" or something to that effect. Probably not those words for sure but something that includes the rules about daycare and then goes on to say how you always meet the ratios and while the children are with you they ....and list some activities.

I agree ... I have MANY illegal daycares in my neck of the woods so my website under 'openings' I also address the 'rules' without bashing anyone else!

You could do something like 'As a dedicated professional my program prides it self on self regulation and therefore follows the rules and regulations for private home based childcare by ensuring that there are never more than 5 daycare children in attendance at any one time between the ages of 0-10 years of age' for more information on the rules and regulations of private home childcare click here (and provider a LINK that prospective clients can find more information on the rules to educate themselves and that way they can read on a government site to be wary of anyone whose illegal and the dangers that poses)
Children construct their own intelligence. The adult must provide activities and context, but most of all must be able to listen. Children need proof that adults believe in them. Their three great desires are to be listened to, to understand, and to demonstrate that they are exactly what we expect."

A few tips...

Always ensure that your child receives quality care by taking the time to investigate the provider and by asking for references! We simply cannot verify the claims of every daycare provider.

On average, a listing is viewed each month by more than 80 parents looking for an available opening for their child!
