I've only done pole dancing once and LOVED it! That is truly a total body workout. I wish I could do those moves my teacher showed us! Wow, it was impressive.

Yeah, I don't really buy junk at all except cookies for my husband. I have gotten into the bad habit of having them as well now. If I was to buy chips, i would consume the bag in 2 secs...so no chips here.
I have lost weight in the past by keeping a journal and writing down every last thing I eat and tallying it at the end of the day. You know exactly how many calories you are taking in and can't really be in denial. Also I have done the small portion route. I seem to have gained progressively more weight every time. Wish I could do it for the long haul but I was a professional cook before I opened my daycare and I also love food. My hubby really isn't much help either. He came from a family of unhealthy eaters. I do like to work out though, I got a stationary bike for Christmas. I use that a couple of times a week, then I mix in aerobics and weights throughout the week. I take the weekend off.
My hubs is in the middle of testing to see if he has fatty liver disease :(, so our eating habits are likely going to change as well. He's not an overly healthy eater, but since I cook, he eats healthy when at home. But proportions are out of control. A lot of meat and carbs, but he barely takes any vegetables.
I'm hoping his changes will help me as well! He started having a smoothie every morning for breakfast, and while I considered it, I get seriously hangry if I don't eat enough in the morning. Breakfast/morning snack is usually my downfall!
My DH and I eat according to the primal / paleo diet. Basically only natural food that can be eaten without processing. Lots of fruits, veg, meat, and nuts. A bit of dairy. No processed food - grains, beans, sugars. I allow myself to cheat occasionally but since I can still eat bacon, butter, eggs, fruits, etc there is a lot of good stuff in there. And large portions of the allowable foods are allowed, and there is also an exercise program... Basically lots of movement with spurts of cardio and heavy lifting (like a 'caveman' would do) :-)
Tons of info and recipes online. It's not the same as Atkins. In my last pregnancy I only gained 20 lbs and had a very healthy pregnancy, and lost it all in a month.
I would recommend looking into it!
I also eat 3 eggs for breakfast every morning and it gets me to lunch no problem.
Gotta have that protein for energy!
My husband was also a cook for many years and makes REALLY good food. That’s why I have such a hard time controlling my portions. And he loves to munch at night so it's hard. Although he told me he will be trying to loose weight soon, hopefully it will help if we're both trying to lose.
Thanks for your post. I decided to start writing what I eat down, it's a great way. I use to do that on the burnstein diet and it always helped.
